Mrs. Fannie Hines, St. Catharine, died Sunday morning at New Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville.  Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Hill Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Kelley with burial in Park Lawn Memory Gardens.  Fannie Irene, daughter of Frank and Sally (Carmack) Forbes, was born Nov. 2, 1919 in Sullivan County.  On Nov. 1, 1934, she married Albert Hines.  Mrs. Hines is survived by her husband, Albert, of the home; by two daughters, Mrs. Bob (Dorothy) Anspaugh of Clinton, and Mrs. David (Joann) Davis of St. Catharine; one son, Charles, St. Catharine; five grandsons, three granddaughters, one great-grandson, five sisters, Mrs. Frank (Alma) Yardley of Milan, Mrs. T. J. (Alice) Hines of Brookfield, Mrs. Dewitt (Mildred) Hackette of Marshall, Mrs. Harold (Pearl) Olinger of Grandview, and Mrs. Ferd (Nellie) Fuemmeler of Glasgow; one half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Collier of Kirksville; four brothers, Paul Forbes of Glasgow, Roy Forbes of St. Catharine, Dempsey Forbes of Pleasant Hill, and Billy Forbes of LaPlata; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Mrs. Hines was preceded in death by her parents and one half-brother.  Mrs Hines was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Fannie married William Albert HINES on Nov 1 1934. William was born Feb 20 1912 in Sullivan County, Missouri. He died Oct 9 1992 in Columbia, Boone County, Missouri and was buried in Parklawn Memory Gardens, Brookfield, Linn County, Missouri.

Dempsey Forbes, 72, of Brookfield, died Tuesday, July 9, 1996 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.  He was born July 30, 1923 in Linn County, the son of Francis "Frank" Samuel and Sarah Jane "Sally" Carmack Forbes. On July 30, 1943, he married Arlene G. McCollum.  She died in 1990 after 47 years of marriage.  On Oct. 3, 1992, he married Lilah Walls. She survives of the home.  After graduating from Shelby High School, he attended Chillicothe Business College.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Kirksville and his Master's Degree in Education from Warrensburg.  Mr. Forbes began his adulthood as a farmer, but found enjoyment and satisfaction in teaching.  He began teaching in New Boston, taught and coached in Bucklin, taught Industrial Arts and was High School Principal in Pleasant Hill Schools and retired there as Assistant Superintendent in 1980.  Mr. Forbes served in the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific.  He became a Christian in his early adult life and served as Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendent and served on church boards in Baptist churches where he lived  Survivors also include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Howard Sappington of Chillicothe; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Betty Forbes of Brookfield; four grandchildren, Lisa Sappington Rule of Broken Arrow, Okla., Lacey Sappington Morrill of Tulsa, Okla., and Lindsey and Travis Forbes of Brookfield; three sisters, Mildred Hackett and Pearl Olinger, both of Brookfield and Nellie Fuemmeler of Glasgow; three brothers, Roy Forbes of St. Catharine, Billy Forbes of La Plata and Paul Forbes of Glasgow; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Andrew and Hugh Forbes; three sisters, Alma Yardley and Alice and Fanny Hines; a half brother, Clyde Forbes; and two half sisters, Minnie Colyer and Bertha Brown.  Funeral services will be a 2 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 1996 at the Rhodes Funeral Home in Brookfield.  The Revs. Jim Wilkens and Steven Long will officiate.  Burial will be at Park Lawn Memory Gardens.

Jack married (1) Lilah MAXWELL.

Jack also married (2) Arlene Gladys MCCOLLUM on Jul 30 1943 in Linn County, Missouri. Arlene was born Apr 12 1924 in North Salem, Linn County, Missouri. She died Nov 17 1990 in Bucklin, Linn County, Missouri and was buried in Parklawn Memory Gardens, Brookfield, Linn County, Missouri.

Arlene G. Forbes, 66, of rural Bucklin, died unexpectedly at 5:50 a.m. Saturday morning, at her home.
She was born April 12, 1924, near North Salem, daughter of Earl Newton and Faith (Overstreet) McCollum. She and Jack Dempsey Forbes were married July 30, 1943, in Brookfield.  She taught school in elementary grades for 32 years before her retirement in 1980, having served 22 years at the Pleasant Hill School System and 10 at the Linn R-1 and Bucklin R-2 schools.  She graduated from Bucklin High School in 1941, and earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Education from Northeast Missouri State University, Kirksville.  She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.  Mrs. Forbes lived in Bucklin before moving to Pleasant Hill, resided there for 22 years, then returned to rural Bucklin in 1980.  She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, northwest of Bucklin, where she taught Sunday School for many years, and the Home Interest Club.  Surviving are her husband, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack N. and Betty Forbes, Brookfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Howard Sappington, Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Lindsey and Travis Forbes, Brookfield, Lacey Sappington, Chillicothe, and Lisa Sappington Rule, Tulsa, Okla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Roscoe Baugher, Bucklin; her step mother, Okie McCollum, Dawn; two uncles, Claude W. McCollum, Oroville, Calif. and Harry Carriker, Bucklin; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law, including Alice Hines, Mildred Hackett and Pearl Olinger, Brookfield, Alma Yardley, Milan, Nellie Fuemmeler, Glasgow, Paul Forbes, Glasgow, Billie Forbes, LaPlata and Roy Forbes, Saint Catharine.  Mrs. Forbes was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Fannie Hines. Services were 2 p.m. today at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, northwest of Bucklin, with the Rev. Steve G. Long, Pastor, officiating.  Burial was in Park Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Brookfield.  Arrangements were directed by Louis V. Scudiero & Sons Funeral Homes, of Bucklin, Ethel and Marceline.

Jauneva Baker, 85, Green Top, died Monday, March 19, 2001, at Northeast Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Bentley-Delaney Funeral Home, Marceline, with Wendell Quigley and Rev. Donald Waterman officiating.  Burial will be in Baker Cemetery, Winigan.  Jauneva was born Dec. 28, 1915, in Bute, daughter of Harvey and Lola (Fanning) Page.  She married Elba W. Baker, Feb. 14, 1934, in Milan.  He preceded her in death April 15, 1987. Jauneva worked at Pershing Regional Health Center, Marceline, for several years, in a factory in Chicago, Ill., was a homemaker and helped on the family farm.  She was a member of the Christian Church, near Winigan, had lived in Marceline for several years and was a Greentop resident for the last three years.  Survivors include one son, Bobby Gene Baker, Independence; two brothers, Delmas D. Spray, Greentop, and Delbert E. Spray, Kahoka; eight grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; her step father, Albert Ross Spray; a son, Alvin Lee Baker; and one great grandchild, Anthony J. Baker, June 22, 1987.

Gladys married Elba W. BAKER on Mar 14 1934 in Milan, Sullivan County, Missouri. Elba died Apr 15 1987 and was buried in Baker Cem., Sullivan County, Missouri.
