2006 Past Events

January 20 2006 Take the Trolley from the Gulfport Casino at 11am to the Pier in St Petersburg and have lunch at the Columbian Restaurant, then return to Gulfport on the Trolley. Trolley fare is $1.25 cash each way!

February 2006 Bill Irle's Dinner Theatre & Dining, Clearwater, Florida; Crimes of the Heart. Thursday February 23rd. Time to be announced. Must have $16.00 in cash. Bill Irle’s Dinner Theatre is at 1411 N. Fort Harrison Ave. Call 446-5898.

March 2006 Derby Lanes Dog Track Wednesday March 8th ~ meet at Clubhouse entrance at 11:15 AM, wear your red hat to get in free. Lunch buffet is $9.95 plus tax, beverage and tip is extra. There may be a few stairs to negotiate and valet parking is free but give a tip. The racing program is $1.50 and the cut off date to make a reservation is March 3rd so please let your team captains know if you are attending or not.

Pink Flamingo Home Tours Saturday March 25th in Gulfport. Greeters are on a volunteer basis and this is not a scheduled Red Hat event but if you do volunteer the tour is free and also a luncheon special will be designated with a special price for anyone appearing in a red hat outfit. Greeters only have to volunteer for two hours. The luncheon place is to be announced.

April 2006 Fashion Show & Luncheon ~ April 13th 2006 at Gigi's Italian Restaurant in South Pasadena at 11:30-12:30 and luncheon will start at 12:30. Seperate checks will include taxes and tip. Lunch menus on the tables plus a daily special. There will be a few door prizes.

National Red Hat Day April 25th, wear your red hat and purple clothes on this day even if we do not have an event scheduled to show your support. We are meeting with the Red Hats of Town Shores at the Club House and walking down to O'Maddy's for lunch at noon. Come early.

May 2006 Corner of England, British Tea Room & Restaurant 130 Beach Drive NE, St Petersburg, Florida, across from the St Pete Pier. 11:30 AM for Luncheon. Cut off date for Captains is May 5th. Dee is the hostess. We will do the Buckingham Palace Afternoon Tea for $9.99. The Buckingham is an assortment of finger sandwiches and your choice of chocolate or lemon cake and your choice of tea. Soup can be added for $3.50 extra per cup and also tax and tip is extra.

We will have sandwiches, soda and dessert. There is a microwave to have tea and a coffee pot is available. We will need help with this as Doris, due to health reasons can no longer be a team Captain. Please Contact Rose Marie for any questions.

July 2006 July 21st at 8 PM, The Sound of Music at Ruth Eckerd Hall. Cost is $22.00 made payable to Bev and sent to her no later than May 8th. Bev is the hostess.

August 2006 Date and Movie to come but we are planing a luncheon at P J's in St Pete Beach with a movie at the Beach Theatre at Corey Avenue to follow. Movie and times will be posted when it becomes available. Sue is the hostess.

September 2006 Red Hat Roundup. Sponsored by the Royal Dames of Treasure Island. Treasure Island Yacht & Tennis Club. A good ole country western luncheon on Saturday, 23 September at the Treasure Island Yacht Club - awesome buffet, entertainment, music and line dancing. Learn to do the Red Hat strut. Prizes, vendors and a special contest for the best decorated southwest hat! Bev & Rose Marie are the hostesses. Cost is $25.00 and must be to your team leader before 01 September. Check in time is at 11:15 am.

October 2006 Ghost stories, halloween costumes and red hats at the Courtyard in Gulfport. Tuesday, October 24th at 5:00 pm. Ghost tour lady will begin her talk at 5:45 and tell us about the ghosts in Gulfport and St Petersburg. The cost will be $7.00 per person and Margo will collect your money as you arrive. We will dine (OPTIONAL) at the Courtyard Cafe Nirvana, which serves pannini's (turkey, roast beef and three cheeses) and drinks. Soda, beer or wine and coffee. Dinner will be under $10.00. Margo is the hostess. Cut off date to let your team Captain know is October 16th. Everyone is asked to wear a costume with a RED HAT but it is not required Ghost Lady Website

Saturday 11 November at 2pm, St Petersburg Little Theatre, the play "Born Yesterday". $15.00 group rate per person. Chris is the hostess. Cut off date is 04 November to your team captain.

December 2006 Luncheon only at the Vinoy. No Tour. Christmas gift exchange. December 13th for luncheon and gift exchange of $5.00 limit. There will be a Christmas hat contest. Bev is the hostess. Cut off date is November 17th for Captains. All money must be collected and to Bev by this date. Cost will be $25.00 per person.
