Born ca. 1827 Hartsville, Sumner or Macon County, Tennessee.
(now Trousdale County-which was formed 1870)


Hartsville Jones, age 32, married Rebecca W. Moody, age 15, of Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky,  on  January 1, 1859 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky.  Mr. Jones worked as a clerk at the T Bradley & Company in Lexington. Hartsville and Rebecca divorced September 6, 1877 in Denver
















The 1880 Federal census for Denver shows a new wife named Caroline S., b. 1844, Ohio, married sometime between 1877 and 1880. Also present in the 1880 household is a son John B. Jones, age 22, b. ca. 1859, Kentucky, and a nephew, Louis C. Newman, age 13, b. ca. 1867, Kentucky.

The 1885 Colorado state census shows a third wife named Nettie, age 23, born Missouri. A fourth marriage to Sarah E. Moran dated 31st of July 1892 is recorded in Douglas County, Colorado.
